Tour ~ 04

During the Summer we LIVE on that patio! Annette's office lies behind the garret beneath the right-hand chimney, Geoff's in the other. The master bedroom is on the right, above the kitchen, while those upper windows conceal a nautically-themed bathroom and an attic.

At the end of the main lawn (which extends to the right) are les petits bois:

We PLANNED to have erected an Italian hand-carved-marble gazebo adjacent to the woods in the Summer of 2008 :

This proved to be a MUCH bigger project than expected, and for quite some time all 3.5 tonnes of it lived in a "some assembly required" state, at the back of the driveway:

Of course, the concrete BASE weighed in at ANOTHER 3.5 tonnes! And THEN, of course, we decided we wanted a MOAT, pumps, filters, etc!

The project was reminiscent of a production of "Ben Hur", with it's Cast-of-Thousands and a budget to match!

ACTUALLY, we ended up with TWO entire marble gazebos (long story!), so the second one ended up being split-up and "scattered" all around the gardens! (Hence the previously-mentioned marble pillars that now line the driveway, plus the Indian fire-bowl area in the woods... not shown here.)
