Perfect Writers' Retreat

The village sports NO shops or cafes !

Nearest garage: 8 mins drive

Nearest shops: 12 mins... 7 miles

the old tv in the corner is now just a shelf!

Indoors

TV channels are provided via 2x IPTV boxes. One provides about 20 French channels while the other provides around 5,000 chanels in many different languages.

There is a PAL-format (UK-Zoned) DVD and

full Wi-Fi (Fiber-Optic) Internet acces, so video streaming is also possible.

There are several electric wall-heaters.
While there IS an internal fireplace, we ask that it not be used due to chimney-cleaning difficulties which translate to Insurance issues.

Board Games are available on request.

No smoking IN the gite, please.

Pets only by arrangement.

Yes it CAN snow in mid-winter... but not much!

Outdoors

The gite has it's own, independent patio area, outdoor furniture and charcoal-fired BBQ equipment.

Parking is off-road, in a large, shared driveway.

The village lends itself to leisurely walks, as does the forest that's "just up the hill".

There are many places of historical interest within 35 mins drive in most directions. Or, a little further afield, you might be interested in some of the nearby Battlefields.

The Gite / Cottage

Shares a large property with we English-speaking Kiwi owners who live in the adjacent "grande maison".

the internet/wi-fi router is now in the right-hand corner

Telephones

There is no land-line in the gite but the "main house" phone can be used, by arrangement.

Physical line-of-sight mobile-phone reception can be sporadic at the bottom of the valley, but there is Wi-Fi connection via the internet.
